The Scripture: We believe the Old and New Testaments to be verbally and plenarily inspired by God, inerrant in the original writings, and that they are of supreme and final authority in faith and life (II Timothy 3:16,17; 1 Peter 1:23; II Peter 1:19-21). Since the King James translation of the Bible is the standard of excellence for English translations of the Scriptures, in both form and accuracy, we utilize the King James in all teaching, preaching, counseling and ministries associated with this church.
The Godhead: We believe the Godhead eternally exists in three persons-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit –and that these three are one God, having precisely the same nature, attributes and perfections (Genesis 1:1; Exodus 20:2-3; Matthew 3:16,17; Matthew 28:19, 20; John 10:30; 1 Corinthians 8:6; II Corinthians 13:14; Romans 8:9; 1 John 5:7).
The Lord Jesus Christ: ———-We believe ——
His eternal existence as God (John 1:1; Hebrews 1:8)
His incarnation by means of the Virgin Birth (Luke 1:35; Isaiah 7:14);
His death on the cross as a substitionary atonement for sin (Romans 3:35; Hebrews 9:14);
His literal bodily resurrection from the dead (Matthew 28:1-7; Mark 16:6; Luke 24:36-43; John 20:1-18; Acts 1:1-8; Acts 10:40,41; 1 Corinthians 15:4-9);
His present ministry of intercession in Heaven (I John 2:1; Hebrews 4:14,15; Hebrews 8:1,2); and
His personal return to earth (Acts 1:11; I Thessalonians 4:16; Matthew 26:64 )
The Holy Spirit: We believe the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Godhead convicts men of sin (John 16:18), regenerates (Titus 3:5; John 3:3), indwells (I Corinthians 3:16), seals (Ephesians 1:13,14), and sets believers apart unto a holy life (Ephesians 4:30), and He keeps and empowers believers day by day; that He is the Teacher of the Word of God and Guide for our daily life. Anyone who does not have the Spirit living in him is not a child of God (Romans 8:9).
The Origin of the Universe, Man, and Sin: We believe that God directly created the universe in six, literal, 24-hour days (Genesis 1). We believe that God created man (both innocent and pure) in His own image and likeness on day 6 of the creation week (Genesis 1:27 and 2:7). We believe that Adam (the first man) fell through the sin of his disobedience (Romans 5:14-19); consequently, all men are corrupted in body, mind and soul (Romans 5:12). Therefore, all are in need of redemption (John 3:3; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23).
Satan: We believe in the reality and personality of Satan (Job 1:6, 7 ; Matthew 4:1-11; I Peter 5:8; James 4:7).
Salvation: ——-We Believe ——
That salvation is solely by grace through faith in the blood sacrifice, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Son of God (Ephesians 2:8,9).
That all who receive Him are regenerated by the Holy Spirit and become children of God (Galatians 3:26).
That all who are truly saved are kept by the power of God (John 10:29-30; I Peter 1:3-5).
That however, God cannot overlook sin in His children and will chasten and correct them in love (Hebrews 12:5-8).
That those who are born of God can know, should know and must have the assurance that they have been born of God and have eternal life (I John 3:24; I John 5:13; I Timothy 1:12; I John 4:13).
The Church: ——–We believe ——
That the local church is composed of regenerated, baptized believers voluntarily united together for the purpose of worship, edification, fellowship of believers, spiritual growth and service (Acts 2:41; Hebrews 10:25)
It has been commissioned by Christ to propagate the Gospel unto the uttermost parts of the earth (Matthew 28:19, 20).
That the local church has absolute right of self-government, free from the interference of any hierarchy of individuals or organization, and that the one and only superintendent is Christ through the Holy Spirit.
That on all matters of membership, of policy, of government, of benevolence, the will of the local church is final.
We believe that term ‘marriage’ has only one meaning and that is marriage sanctioned by God which joins one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6; Ephesians 5:31)
We believe that God intended sexual intimacy to only occur between a man and a woman who are married to each other. We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. (1 Corinthians 7:1-5; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-8; Hebrews 13:4)
We believe that any form of sexual immorality, such as adultery, fornication, homosexuality, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, pornography, pedaphilia or any attempt to change one’s sex, or disagreement with one’s biological sex, is sinful and offensive to God. (Genesis 1:26-27; Exodus 20:14; Leviticus 18:6-23; Leviticus 20:10-21; Matthew 5:27-28; Mark 10:11-12; Luke 16:18; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10)
We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of the church as the local Body of Christ, and to provide a biblical role model to the church members and the community, it is imperative that all persons employed by the church in any capacity, or who serve as volunteers, should abide by and agree to this Statement on Marriage and Sexuality and conduct themselves accordingly.
We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. (Romans 10:13; 1 Corinthians 6:11)
We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with scripture nor the doctrines of the church. (James 3:8-10)
The Ordinances: We believe that Christ gave only two Ordinances to the church to be observed until He comes:
The Lord’s Supper: It was left to us as an ordinance by the Lord Himself (Matthew 26:26-28: Mark 14:22-24; Luke 22:19-20) for a memorial of His death until He comes and should not be taken unadvisably, but with the examination of one’s life (I Corinthians 11:23-32).
Believers Baptism: Baptism is the outward testimony of the spiritual transformation in the life of one who has placed trust in Jesus Christ for salvation. (Acts 2:41) We practice baptism because of the example of our Lord Jesus while He was here on earth (Matthew 3:13-16) and because of the command given by our Lord to be baptized ( Matthew 28:19). We believe and require immersion as the only mode adequately portraying that which believes baptism symbolizes —- our death, burial and resurrection with Christ. (Colossians 2:12) It should be made clear that there is no saving power in baptism, as it is meant for those who are already saved – giving a clear picture of the fact that the believer is dead, buried and raised spiritually with Jesus Christ by faith in Him (Romans 6:13).
The Church Shall —— encourage the consecration and dedication of little children by parents in a public service, without the use of water. Infant baptism shall not be recognized or practiced by this church.
The Future: ———We Believe in ——
The personal, premillennial, pre-tribulational, and imminent return of Jesus Christ. (Revelation 22:7, 12 & 20) He will come:
for His saints to gather them unto Himself to eternally abide in the glory of His presence (John 14:1-3; I Thessalonians 4:13-17); and
with His saints to judge the nations (Revelations 19:15-21).
The bodily resurrection of the unjust unto judgment and Everlasting conscious punishment in the lake of fire (Luke 16:19-31; 2 Thessalonians 1:6-10; Revelation 20:14-15).
Separation —-We Believe ——
It is our duty to call the attention of believers to the Scriptural teachings of separation and that we should abstain from worldly practices and live a life devoted unto the Lord (Romans 12:1,2; II Corinthians 6:14, 17-18; I Thessalonians 4:3-7; I John 2:15-17; Ephesians 3:6; II Thessalonians 5)
Missions: Because all men everywhere without Christ are lost and bound for eternal punishment (Romans 1:18-20) and because men cannot believe in Him of whom they have never heard (Romans 10:14 )——–We Believe that:
We are debtors to all men and have the responsibility of giving them the Gospel (Romans 1:14; Mark 18:15);
Jesus left us the command that we should all be witnesses for Him (Acts 1:8) and should take the good news of the Gospel to everyplace where men are to be found (Matthew 28:19-20; Luke 24:46-48; John 20:21);
To carry out this command, we must ourselves be witnesses by life and word to tell all lost men without Christ and we must support by prayers and financial aid those who go out under sound missionary agencies to represent us in other parts of the world.
