Tabernacle Baptist Church was founded in 1964 by Pastor Norman E. Dollar and his wife, Bernis. Following the Lord’s leading, the Dollars relocated from New Mexico to the Northern Virginia area to establish an independent, Bible preaching church. In 1965, TBC purchased the property where it is currently located. Over the years the Lord has continued to work in the hearts and lives of people throughout the community: souls were saved, believers followed in baptism, and people began serving Christ.

Pastor Dollar continued to minister God’s Word at TBC until he went home to be with the Lord in 1985. In 1989, the Lord led Pastor Eugene Zorbas, his wife, Nancy, and their family to TBC where he and his wife faithfully serve today.

Over the years, TBC has seen many people, of all ages, come to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, follow in believer’s baptism, and serve Christ in the local church and abroad. It is wonderful to reflect on the history of TBC and its longevity, but it is also important that we look toward the future. We look forward to the many years ahead of us as we continually and faithfully seek to share the Gospel, train Christians and serve the Lord in our local community and abroad.
